Position Summary: This is a career-making opportunity for a highly motivated individual to create something truly amazing in our community. The candidate will be responsible for building the SPARK! Development program and department to prepare for and execute an upcoming capital campaign.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute the development strategy to grow SPARK! from a prototype facility into our future vision
  • Develop and build the SPARK! Development Department to a level that achieves the capital campaign objectives
  • Promote the work of SPARK! throughout the community in a manner that encourages people to share of themselves and their finances and to become engaged in providing regular support
  • Manage donor care, recognition, cultivation and solicitation processes
  • Develop and implement an infrastructure for the strategic cultivation and stewardship of event donors to become long-term donors to SPARK! ensure proper post-event follow-up plans are executed
  • Plan, organize, and direct all fundraising initiatives, the major gifts program, the annual fund, planned giving, special events, grants, online giving and capital campaigns and other areas as specified by the CEO
  • Develop new strategies to expand the net proceeds of all events
  • Make public appearances and speaking engagements both inside & outside SPARK! to share the work of SPARK! with the community
  • Meet prospective donors and supporters on a regular basis to maintain donor engagement
  • Manage, support and provide professional development for staff members assigned to Development
  • Coordinate the work of The Board of Directors Development Committee
  • Ensure that advancement-related materials are distributed in a timely and appropriate manner for the Advancement Team
  • Work closely with Marketing on development materials for fundraising events

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the dynamics of this area’s political, educational and corporate entities
  • Innovative strategies for networking, team building and growing revenue streams
  • Relational in all types of business cultures and to a variety of constituents
  • A visionary with a strong ability to lead boldly
  • Diversified oral communicator who excels in the art of engaging and inspiring potential donors
  • Cultivator of long-term relationships and legacy givers, as much as first-time donors.
  • Passion for the work and programs of SPARK! and ability to effectively communicate the organization’s vision to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 plus years of demonstrated leadership success in designing and managing
  • comprehensive annual giving programs and fundraising events for nonprofit
  • Strong computer skills and donor database knowledge, including PowerPoint, Excel and Salesforce
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must work in the office 4 days a week, working one day out of the office.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
