Chinese Dragon Slide and Nest

Artists: Devon Davis, Pascale Pryor, James Bauer, and Byron Zarrabi

Conceptualized by Devon Davis to highlight the donation of crawl tubes from Neiman Marcus, the Chinese Dragon slide connects the upper platform to the lower with a twist on the ordinary playground slide.  Volunteers from the marketing department at Neiman Marcus assisted in painting the tubes a bright yellow and cutting and painting plastic plates to form the dragon’s scales. Metal artists and fabricators Pascale Pryor, James Bauer and Byron Zarrabi completed the effort with the colorful dragon head that swallows visitors to the lower level. Months after installation the dragon mysteriously built her nest and laid two eggs.  Over time, one egg has hatched and the young baby dragon found its way out.
