SPARK! Award


Objective: Recognize the individual(s) who made a large impact on igniting creativity in the children of North TX

The SPARK! Award, introduced in 2016, is presented annually to honor the individual or individuals whose efforts have made significant impact on igniting creativity in the children of North Texas.

Nomination criteria

  • Efforts help drive the development of creativity in children ages 7 – 17
  • Efforts of the individual(s) stimulate creative confidence in children
  • Work may be done in a single creative discipline or across multiple disciplines
  • Effort may be public or private, however, if it is private it must be scalable
  • Efforts may include collaborations between organizations  
  • Primary effort must focus on North Texas, we will recognize recipient’s work beyond N. TX, but will not include in judging criteria

Who may nominate

  • Non-profit agencies
  • Public schools
  • Elected or appointed community leaders
  • Children who’ve benefitted from the actions being nominated
  • Philanthropists and foundations

Judging criteria

  • Efforts help drive the development of creativity in children ages 7 – 17
  • Efforts of the individual(s) stimulate creative confidence in children
  • Work may be done in a single creative discipline or across multiple disciplines
    • Efforts of those who volunteer or donate are considered alongside of those who fund or receive payment for efforts
    • Effort may be public or private, however, if it is private it must be scalable
    • There are no restrictions on access
  • will consider work with multiple organizations or implementations
  • will recognize recipient’s work beyond N. TX, but will not include in judging criteria
