Envisioned and designed by Rolando Diaz, the stunning mosaic at the center of the SPARK! upper gallery was handcrafted by master mosaic artist Raymond Gager. Raymond spent six weeks, five days each week on his knees inlaying this stunning work. Each tile of the mosaic started out as either a 4″x 4″ or 6″ x 6″ square and was painstakingly cut to size by Raymond. View the stunning eyes of the butterfly, these pieces were the result of 4 weeks of searching. Installed before electricity was brought into SPARK! Raymond worked with extension cords and spot lights.
